‘Tis the season for a festive feast at ZEST by Konishi


The Michelin-starred restaurant has curated premium Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve menus embodying freshness and seasonality

(Hong Kong, 20 November 2020) –The unique haute French Japanese restaurant, ZEST by Konishi, has curated Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve menus to celebrate the holidays with opulence and indulgence. The festive culinary experience has been seasoned with intuition and finesse by Executive Chef Mitsuru Konishi.

Available on 24 December, the Christmas Eve Menu (HK$2,080 per person) provides festive delicacies that immediately spark the holiday mood. Following Amuse Bouche, the meal begins with three delicious entrées, a highlight being the Wild Caught Amberjack, Hokkaido Sea Urchin, Eggplant, Wasabi Dashi. The dish features Japanese eggplant that combines several cooking methods all in one, first being deep fried with skin, soaked in ice water, and finally cooked in dashi. Chef Konishi sources the best ingredients from all over the world in order to bring his dishes to perfection. Featuring abalone from Hokkaido, Ezo Abalone, Snow Crab, Yuzu, Lily is another entrée dish that perfectly exemplifies the haute French Japanese cuisine.

For the main dish, a must-try is the Ping Yuen Chicken, the irresistible signature delicacy. Alternatively, opt for the Kagoshima Beef Tenderloin, Gratin Dauphinois – the most tender, juicy cut of meat with an irresistible potato side. To round off the meal with a dessert, enjoy a Citrus Madeleine and Mont Blanc created by Chef Konishi specifically for the festive season. The latter classic Christmas dessert represents the best of both worlds with French and Japanese chestnuts mixed together to make a decadent cream filling, served with a side of spiced gingerbread ice cream and merengue.

To say farewell to the year on a delicious note, the New Year’s Eve Menu (HK$2,380 per person), available on 31 December, features main course favourites from its Christmas counterpart, as well as several other options. In the entrées, Slow Cooked Wagyu Beef Consommé, Black Truffle is the ultimate flavour-packed dish with soft slices of premium Wagyu beef, accompanied by rich black truffle. Calling all seafood connoisseurs, Lobster, Pedro Sherry Vinegar, Mushrooms is an appetizer creation worth savouring, complimented with fresh and earthy morel mushrooms grown in France. For the main, the Ping Yuen Chicken, Stuffed With Black Truffle, has a festive special spin on the signature dish, complimented with seasonal black truffle. The creamy foie gras and delicate Koshihikari rice, cooked with aromatic ingredients such as butter, chicken stock, onion, and white wine elevate the flavour profile to the next level. The meal is concluded with the Mont Blanc delight and zesty Citrus Madeleine. To complete the celebration, both menus also feature an option for a wine pairing, carefully customized for each dish in the set.
