Old Bazaar Kitchen to Reopen With New Elements
The iconic restaurant moves to Cross Lane, presenting novelty concept and a new look
At its previous location on Wan Chai Road, Old Bazaar Kitchen brilliantly served a wide spectrum of local delicacies. Later this month, the popular restaurant will relocating to a new space in the area. The new Cross Lane location, formerly housed Japanese restaurant Gin Sai, is now the new home of the new Old Bazaar Kitchen, tentatively opening later this month.
The new location begins with new elements in its interiors, designed by local design house MaS Studio, which specialises in Asian-inspired spaces, will fill the new bright dining space with nostalgic elements such as black and white photographs of old Hong Kong.
The role of executive chef is retained by the restaurant’s partner and long-time executive chef Billy Chung. Chef Chung is presenting his signature brand of locally-inspired cuisine prepared with abundant seasonal ingredients. Signatures at the new Old Bazaar Kitchen include:
– Bak kut teh (Chiu-Chow style or Fujian style)
– Curry king crab
– Hainan chicken with herb-stewed rice casserole
– Salt-baked lamb rack
– Yellow and white curry with garoupa
Aside from a la carte selections, lunch and dinner prix-fixe menus are also available at the new restaurant.
